About My Art

When I approach the landscape, I want to capture not only a visual perception of pattern, light and form, but also the energy in how a particular landscape feels. I find I work best when I respond instinctively to the subject matter, be it a landscape, portrait, or still life, rather than when I try to analyze it. To work through and beyond the subject, see and feel the inner spirit of things — this is what I want in my works of art.
